As the end of the year quickly approaches, last minute events are scheduled to take place this week in order to bid farewell to leaving seniors and organize the next school year for returning juniors and underclassmen.
Today, Monday, May 24, during the early periods of the day, all classmen were instructed to clean out their lockers. Trash cans were placed in the hallways for throw away anything they didn’t want, while all other items were instructed to be taken home, so that lockers were empty for the summer.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 25, during second and third periods, all students are required to attend a senior assembly in the gym. During this time, seniors will be sitting on the gym floor, while all other students will be in the bleachers. Awards and recognitions for seniors who have either left a lasting impact on the school or recieved lofty scholarships are set to be recognized, as well as for other honors.
Following that, during fifth period, all underclassmen will be watching a KCBY segment in order to vote for their class officers for the next year. This is more efficient than taking out more periods of the day for more assemblies for each class. Votes will be tallied and announced during the week.
