Ukulele Club Makes Sound
By: Scott Bennett
The rhythmic sound of ukuleles can be heard if one ventures as far as H hall after school hours. You may think it’s a sound in your head; it is H hall after school right? It is, in fact, ukulele club.
Ukulele club hold meetings after school every Wednesday for all ukulele enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The club, like every other club at CHS, focuses on the club’s topics, schedules regular meetings, and talks about things relating to, in reliance on, and things that assist the club.
There is, however, one key difference between Ukulele club and all of the other clubs available to join. That difference is the instruments.
Though not many clubs at CHS focus on instruments and musical talent, it is completely available for students to form clubs that are willing to do so, so why the lack?
Many students feel that playing an instrument is an individual thing, aided at first, but then completely individual. Others feel that the unnecessary amount of cynical and private feelings toward playing an instrument comes from self-indulgence and privacy issues.
Whatever the reason for students avoiding social communication and get-togethers through instruments and music, it seems to be something running short at CHS. Perhaps it is a small and unique club like Ukulele club that is to bring attention to this kind of interaction.
Your mind is not playing tricks on you, H hall is ukulele hall.
