Living Out at CHS Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Living Out, the latest production put on by the Coppell Theatre Department, effectively tells about the struggles of raising a family and how racial stigmas play a role in modern society.

The play depicted the lives of two young couples from very different cultures. Ana and he husband fled from El Salvador leaving their oldest son with their grandmother while smuggling their youngest across the border with them. On the other hand Nancy Robins and her husband are a pair of successful lawyers with their first daughter, and are just trying to balance family and career. Ana interviews for a nanny job with Mrs. Robins and the complications start from there.

“I was hoping that people would see the reality of the situation,” senior Kim Dalrymple said. “It’s really and it’s what happens, and it’s our world today.”

Though this play didn’t have a happy ending, the audience seemed to find watching the play a positive experience.
“I just thought it would be an interesting mix to see Mr. Ballard with this play,” sophomore audience member said. “It was deep and interesting.”

Living Out addressed the world issues of today and how we all relate to each other despite our differences.
