The Invisible Children Club is holding an “Awareness Week” in order to promote their club and the children in third world countries who are less fortunate than those here. Each day of this week will therefore be marked off with a theme in order to call attention.

Monday’s theme is X Marks the Spot where students are asked to wear a duct tape red X on their chest in order to “see” the invisible children; on Tuesday students are to wear their TOMS shoes; Wednesday is Superhero day where students wear their favorite superhero memorabilia; Thursday is Camo Day; and Friday is a day where students are asked to either wear their TOMS, any Invisible Children clothing they have, or both.

To top off the end of the week, this Saturday, Dec. 19, the Invisible Children Club will be holding a garage sale in the Sprouts Parking lot. Members of the club have been collecting old materials from around their house in order to sell them. All proceeds from the sale go towards helping the invisible children.

“I think the garage sale is a good way to raise awareness about these less fortunate people around the world, who aren’t as blessed as us,” Invisible Children Club officer and junior Lily Choi said. “We can get rid of some of our old stuff for a good cause and help to spread holiday cheer.”
