Pretty and witty and…hey! “West Side Story” auditions to be open for new talent

This year for their annual spring musical, the First United Methodist Church of Coppell will be performing the classic “West Side Story” on March 25th-28th. To start up the production process, auditions for the show will be held Dec. 10 and 11 starting at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the church, though it is open to anyone — you do not have to be a member of the church to participate.

Those who wish to try out for a part other than chorus are asked to bring and perform 16 bars from a musical theatre piece. Songs from the show are prefered, but not required. All will be asked to sing, run a few lines and perform a short dance number to judge on placement in the show.

The show has a heavy emphasis on male roles and will require lots of outside time out of school. However, the performance is shaping up to be a landmark in FUMC history — don’t miss out on your opprotunity to be a part of it!
