Tonight only, moviegoers have the ability to travel down the yellow brick road once again as the Wizard of Oz will be shown in theaters across the nation in honor of its 70th Anniversary Encore event.

Often times, during anniversary events for major motion pictures, large actions are taken, such as the remaking of the film in better quality or re-releasing it on DVD. Few films are as memorable as the Wizard of Oz, however, to be shown in theaters once again.

But the Wizard of Oz, the first ever film to be shown in color, will be shown across most theaters around mid-evening time tonight only. Fans will have the ability to travel back to the past, into the wonderful land of Oz with Dorothy and all of her friends once again, but now in large-screen resolution and better quality.
